Apparently these apps are free just for the 4th of July, so I'm guessing that the sale price has just activated early.

Evolver on Bjork album's 'constellation of apps'
I am quite intrigued to see / hear what this is like when it is released and also how the apps either interact with or enhance the music itself.
I do like the idea of the app as a multimedia art form either complimenting another medium or standing alone, but I think it will take a while for people to get into that properly and it will take artists like Bjork to may progress in the write direction.

Interesting numbers (app store)
So, apparently after 450 days (roughly) of the iPad we now have over 100,000 iPad apps (including universals). That is quite impressive. In total Apple has over 400,000 apps in it's iTunes store but only about 5,000 Mac apps although I'm sure that'll grow.
Monotron nominated for a Makey
And I think it has a good chance of winning for it's excellent documentation. I hope it does. More of the details at Make.
