This is from a 1996 radio programme that I used to listen to. It's an interesting interview so I thought it would be a good thing if you're at a loose end on a Saturday night!

Poly for iPad brings generative poly-rhythms sequencing to your iPad

Poly is a unique generative sequencer for iPad which harnesses the power of poly-rhythms to create intricate and exciting patterns.

Different coloured nodes are added to a circular area. The closer a node is to middle, the faster it repeats. Each node has its own sample, FX settings and keyboard. There are five available colours and up to 12 nodes maximum.

Poly comes with over 40 preset sounds, including a selection of awesome 808 samples!

OK, what is it?

Even in 2009 I'm still using Windows Mobile. Here's an old video from me showing Mixtikl 1 on a dell Axim.

Of course, before Mixtikl was Mixtikl it was miniMIXA. In fact, I think I might still have a copy of it knocking around somewhere.

This early video shows what miniMIXA was about from 5 years ago, but you can still recognise the interface, which shows some real continuity.

20 years after the first Koan beta, Noatikl adds Koan file support

Ok, this isn't a mobile news story but it's about Intermorphic who make the awesome Mixtikl for a number of platforms and who were involved in the original Koan software. 20 years since the first Koan beta was issued Intermorphic have added support for opening original Koan files in Noatikl desktop.

It's a more than fitting way of celebrating the anniversary of Koan and also supporting users who've been waiting patiently for a way to use their old files. Koan was the start of the generative journey and Intermorphic have been taking it forward and developing it ever since.

If you don't know Noatikl or Mixtikl, then you should take a look at them for sure.
