iPhone App Directory

I posted this yesterday, but here's a brief reminder that I've added a little list of my current favourite iOS apps in the sidebar. Feel free to take a look. My plan is to keep it up to date as my tastes change, and they do change.

Thanks for looking.

Nice list, I enjoy all of them.

Can you elaborate on your fondness for Mixtikl? I am sure I haven't played with it enough to appreciate its depth, but what do you actually do with it? Make music to relax to? Compose pieces? Do you upload your own samples / clips?

I am just curious because it is sitting there on my iOS devices. I'll play with it for a little bit but then put it down.

Thanks!

Hi Michael, thanks for the comment. Mixtikl isn't an easy app to get into, I know that for sure, and at times it can very much feel like a whole trial and error thing to get it to do what you want.

It is worth reading through the documentation at intermorphic's site, but the other thing I'd like to say is that Mixtikl isn't for everyone.

In terms of what I use it for, I will often start with a randomly generated piece and then tune the parameters to experiment with it.

I don't know if that helps at all?

Ashley,

Thanks for your reply. It does help. I take it that using Mixtikl is a subtle and/or elaborate experience which probably requires tinkering to appreciate. I'll save it for a time when I have a couple hours to play.

Best,
Michael
