iPhone App Directory

Which app would you most like ...

To get virtual MIDI compatibility, and why?

There are loads of great apps but only a small number have virtual MIDI so far. More are coming on all the time, but which ones would you like to get there sooner rather than later?

Nanostudio, of course. And I hope Matt will integrate virtual MIDI in both directions, in and out.

What's happening with the Sonoma Midi copy paste thingy too is it still coming soon?

+1 for ReBirth, it desperately needs MIDI sync instead of that useless WIST protocol...

Rebirth, Konkreet Performer, Otomata, and Nodebeat HD. That'll do for starters!

Sampletank. I constantly use it on my laptop, having it using virtualmidi on the iPad would be the bomb.

Nanostudio both ways n sync-age. Also, otomata. Finally, multitrack DAW

Coz there's people who like pointing out midi is not the same as audio & they really need an outlet. So to speak.

Oh yes, Sampletank NEEDS this (but it also needs recording and ACP)

I have this app called Amos: Another MIDI OSC Source and I'm guessing that virtual MIDI is working. It recognizes and produces sound from Sunrizer, but not Polychord. It also recognizes Molten, MoDrum, and Baseline but makes no sound when you check them off in the MIDI pop up window.

Nanostudio, but most sense makes meteor with the midi sequencer. Because of the lack of synths.

VMC for Sunrizer XS, Morphwiz, Airvox and Geo Synth would be great. Hope the iPhone version of Geo Synth has it once out.

Any sequencer that can do a solid job as a go between with a piano roll. Preferably with a small memory footprint. Brainwave? Not sure about the studio type ones or genome? A virtual midi interface would be a cool iap for tabletop too...

I would like Akai or any other developer with access to the Synthstation25 SDK to develop a simple application that can read data from the Synthstation25 hardware, run on the background, and communicate that data via a virtual midi port to any other core midi app. In that way, the Synthstation25 hardware could be virtually usable with any core midi app.

SunrizerXS
Xenon/Argon

Reactable, it's a great app and just needs midi, virtual midi, osc, whatever just please give it sync capabilities. That said, I'm not really feeling virtual midi yet. I have but one iOS device, and "jamming" with myself doesn't hold my attention for very long. But I can imagine others getting reasonable results that way.
