And if there is will it be an app for OP-1 rather than the OP-1 for the iPad / iOS etc? A comment was left on yesterday's 'Wait List' about the OP-1 app, so if anyone does have any information about this rumoured app, please let me know.

That'd be so great, but I'd be surprised if that actually happened. I can't imagine that it would be good for their sales ofmthe hardware unit.
Clavia released a demo version of their G2 modular synth, and Yamaha the Tenori-on. The architecture is also almost identical too.
Personally I think it would do nothing more than boost sales of OP-1's because ultimately after buying the app, you'd really want the real thing! I know I would!! :)
I think it's a VST plugin so you can slice your samples and pre-prepare sounds to load onto the OP-1 quicker than editing it all on the machine - if it's this one, then I think DeadMau5 and his music partner (can't remember his name) were working on it last time I heard.
Some of the first few OP-1 users are beta testers of the tool...I'm pretty confident it's not iOS related though.

@DJ Hombre, You probably are thinking of Steve Duda, maker of the excellent Nerve VST.
