It didn't work on 4.2 jailbroken with retinapad installed. I had to update to 4.3.3 and it works fine. I rejailbroke and it's all good.
My behringer ufo202 USB audio still does not work. Everytimr I try to record it crashes the app.
The new interface, midi and memory management is nice. Overall good update but I'd still love to record in stereo natively with this app.
You bet! And I must say, I'm really impressed with this BM2 update. I've been playing around with it all afternoon. I think Intua have done an excellent job. MIDI looks really good too.
This update is really going to kick BlipInteractive up the backside. I'm really interested now in what Matt does next!
How dear... it was just good news till someone felt it was a good idea to drop some gas on the blip/intua useless conversation sparkles... it took only two comments to do it this time, guess who felt so smart? (again)

I meant 'any competition', not 'just another competitor'. But is there another competitor? Hmm... perhaps Tabletop now? But no, not really.
Competition is a good thing. It's how you've chosen to interpret what I've said, that is negative. :)
Still don't see them as competition, especially since NS has some of these features already without the half gig of terrible presets. Still a sizable update from Intua. Good on them. Doubt Matt's worried though.
It's a good update, but yeah, they need to kick most of the presets and let users download extra presets from the Intua site. The 2.1 update cut the app size down but it's still far too big. The only bigger apps I have are huge games likes GTA Chinatown Wars.
I think the update is really very good. The instrument parameters go a long way in helping out the samples.
I figured out earlier that you can slim the amount of samples Intua stuff into BM by syncing the iPad with your PC, and then erasing BM from your iPad.
Then after finding the Beatmaker.ipa turning the ipa file extension into a zip file, opening it up and manually take out all the unwanted samples and songs, then close it back up again, change the extension back to ipa then reinstalling Beatmaker into the iPad from iTunes. Done. :)
But agreed, waiting for half-a-gig of app to download over 3G was a chore and an excersise in patience, not to be recommended!
Great update. UI is looking really slick, and overall the app seems a bit snappier. I don't really see any reason to take out all the presents. They can be a great starting point and once chopped, screwed and manipulated they can sound all sorts of different ways.
You can get rid of the samples if u use iFile on a JB device or use iPhone explorer on any normal device. They really need to make two versions. A light and a full version.
