It's with profound sadness that we have to inform you that Mick finally lost
his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at 4.30pm today, 4th
January 2011 at home in Chelsea, London.
He was surrounded by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by
all.

mick karn was my inspiration for learning fretless bass. an amazing talent, both with japan and solo.

Sad news. I'll be joining Tom, that track is one of my all-time favourites...
Sad. I don't play bass guitar but whenever I window shop for one I always look for fretless because of the sound Mick made with Japan.
