10 Predictions about Music Making in the next decade
I liked this post at Synthtopia on predictions for the next decade, especially number 3. I also agree with 5, although I think that we'll see the intersection of mobile and cloud becoming more and more apparent.

Nice read, but I wouldn't call those "predictions" as all of them are happening right now or has already happened in the past.
This is more a "The state of music today" article if you ask me.
"Music software will get smarter".. duh! software is always getting smarter, this is not new :P

I agree with johnnygO. Most of this stuff has been done before in one form or another and the rest of it is technology for the sake of technology and not necessarily rooted in or specific to music.
And I think I saw #7 on an episode of Buck Rogers (1970's re-run?)

Yes, I don't know what happened. I got a load of nonsense from Google after I posted, then my comment reappeared, then it went again. :(
I was basically agreeing with a poster who replied to the link you supplied (Synthfan), in that I thought (and I'm sorry for this) that these predictions really didn't tell us anything new. I was also pointing out that the Roland TB303 was also a pocket device originally designed to help buskers provide a backing track when they played.
If anything, my prediction would be that more people learn to play an actual musical instrument instead of being reliant on electronic gadgets.
Actually, reading the comments of Johnyg0 and Darksound, I agree with them too! :)

The TB303 has been around for 30 years or more!!
