Big Electrify update

Electrify gets a big update today and moves up to version 2. Here's what's new:
  • Import your own samples (.wav / .aif) with the documents sharing feature of iTunes
  • Import single samples or whole directories as zip file
  • Bounce the pattern as a .wav file
  • switch between one shot and loop mode
  • Sample editing: truncate / normalize / timestretch
  • new effect: bpm sync delay
  • solo button
  • minor ui updates
  • changing a steps value automatically sets a note
  • adjust if the clip changes after 1 bar or after the end of that clip
  • step parameters show current value when changing
  • clips show currently playing bar
  • performance improvements to avoid random sound glitches
Looking forward to playing with that one soon.

Yes, massive update, lots of good stuff!

One thing the developer mysteriously neglected to mention that might be of interest to all of us, is also clipboard copy support. Not only can you export the pattern to .wav for filesharing through iTunes, but also to paste it into another app like Multitrack DAW.

Also, the user sampling supports pasting from other apps as well. For instance, play a note into the recorder in Nlog, and make a usable sample in Electrify... Nice!

This is an excellent update and takes the workflow to a whole new level allowing other Apps to easily fill the sonic hole in Electrify's arsenal by allowing you to import pads and textures created elsewhere. (and any other samples that you fancy!)

Finaly it's possible to easily use the content you produce in Jasuto, iSequence and Doppler Pad within a creative multi track environment including effects and automation. It's also great for pasting sub mixes from Multitrack to allow you to work on other parts before copying and pasting the new content back into Multitrack.

As you have full control over sample start and decay it's possible to do a lot with a four bar bass line or other long sample.

My one gripe is the inclusion of note creation when automation data is altered. As most of the samples I import are greater than one bar in length it's a pain to have to to delete the notes created when trying to apply filter automation or other changes.

All in however it's a big step in the right direction.

The latest version of this is utterly broken. File management is insane, when you try to delete a file it deletes the wrong file. And when I import a sample that is longer than 1 bar, it won't play past the 1 bar, even when you pick an early loop point and loop it. Needs to be fixed, for this app to be useful.
