Hardware DSP and menus don't rule each other out. It's amazing what you can do with an FPGA devkit, or even a microcontroller these days. You could even interface your homebrew hardware synth to a monitor and keyboard. For example, check out what this guy has been doing with Parallax chips. Turbulence is amazing.
Just another thought...maybe its hardware on an existing platform...arduino (?) buglabs or some gumstix pc board etc That would enable sharing to take place...I can't wait to see it!

I reckon it's hardware.
That would be different, but would it be a one off then? It'd be a shame if it wasn't something that could be shared
Yeah, it's got to be hardware. Some kind of homebrew DSP box?
Except he did talk about menu items. If it is a DSP box it would then have to have a screen and input and all sorts of stuff too to then have menus.
I'm non the wiser and just confused. I guess I'll need to wait and see what turns up

You never know, if it was hardware he might do pcb kits schematics etc...I'm sure he'd be up for sharing...
....me polishes soldering iron in anticipation....:)

does sort of look like it may be hardware; arduino?
