I have an old 1st Generation iPod Touch, or rather I've just got it back and now I'm wondering what I can do with it. So if you know of any excellent uses for an old 1st gen touch, please let me know.
I just use mine for audio books and music apps that will work with it, which are still quite a few. I use my iPhone 3G in my synthstation and my iPhone 3GS for everything. I can't part with any of my many idevices, and I have just about everyone ever made . . . I love them! My old first gen iPod still works but only when powered through the charger.
You could use it as a digital recorder, when messing around musically record everything in background for later use.
Do not know if this is possible, but know you are a fan of Jasuto, which can supposedly recieve osc info. Run jasuto as an instrument on iPhone and control it from iPad using one of the osc controller apps.
Are there any other apps that can recieve wireless osc info? Would love to use iPod as a sound source and control it from the iPad

Mine is mostly docked in a speaker dock and performs internet radio and DLNA streaming duties.
Sometimes I attach my Macally iVoice 3 pro mic and use it as a dedicated FX unit.
1g had no audio input.

@anonymous There are several dock connector mic/line in solutions for the 1g including the awesome Macally iVoice3 pro.
My 1g is now primarily for music, but I occasionally still use it as a PDA when I don't want to carry my iPad. Still love idrum on it.
I had a macally mic, but one of the os upgrades made it stop working with the 1g. Purchase with care.
If you get the MacAlly iVoice, make sure you get the Pro one which has its own speaker. The other one will no longer work with the iPod Touch 1G.
Many DJ apps still work on iOS 3.x so you should be good for that as well.
