I've been thinking about getting an old Android phone just to experiment with? If it is, any suggestions on what kind to get?

Not sure for how much you can pick up a G1 if at all; but i picked up a t-mobile pulse from ebay for 100 Euros Then paid 14 Euros to get it unlocked. Then put on a custom rom.
Works a charm and looking forward to hooking it up with Arduino sometime end of year :)
