Is it just me, but I remember when the Appstore launched, it was full of nice free music applications (like Ouilead and such), now anything remotely interesting is 99 cents, with some exceptions.

if you would design and code an app spending about 20 days of your lifetime (learning not included), would you make it free? creating such apps is a professional task and some try to make a life with it. one dollar is a price that really nobody hurts, or are you asking starbucks for free coffee too?
