Whatever happened to ...

Remember what YUDO promised a long time ago?

According to the YUDO SV-5 Vocoder video they have the following projects in the pipe:
  • 16 track multitrack with mixer + 14 effects
  • 8bit Music tool with sound module and sequencer
  • Analogue synth with sequencer and effector
That's some impressive list of apps to get through in the Spring of 2009. I hope they make it.

Well we did see 8Bitone, but neither of the other 2 apps came about, which was a shame, and their focus seems to be on making these sound toy type apps now.

Frankly, I prefer the soundtoy type stuff - it's better suited to the iPhone environment. Yeah, it's cool to see something that can push what the iPhone is capable of, but then again, you end up with slowdown that risks ruining the experience (e.g. Mixtikl 2 - huge potential, frustrating execution).

Small, well-designed, curiosities are a fine future for Yudo, imo.
