Whatever happened to pocket303?

Ages ago, and by ages I mean just a few months, Amidio were talking about bringing a new music app out called 'pocket303'. What happened to that app?

I have to admit that since then they've made plenty of other high quality music apps and the 303 app sector (if I can say it is a sector) is a bit overcrowded, but I'd still like to know if it is going to come out or not?

Please- not another 303!

I should think they've abandoned it by now. As you say, we've already got Finger Bassline, DB-303 and technoBox (pretty much the last word in pocket 303 emulation) and a number of similar synths.

I'm glad Amidio are working on interesting and innovative new apps rather than wasting dev time on something that's been done.

I think you're right. The stuff they're doing now is more interesting and the 303 market is saturated anyway.

I just wonder sometimes when a developer talks about an application that's coming up and then never makes it available. What happens to the code? Do they just delete it? It would be a shame really.

It's been a while since I coded anything non-trivial but my unused code usually ends up in my snippet repository to be reused at a later date.

Amidio would already have had the audio framework and majority of the DSP code from Noise.IO, so the most time consuming parts would have been creating the graphic assets and custom UI code, which we've seen no evidence of - in other words, I don't think they've been frittering away their time :)
