And what it is that they'll mean for iOS based music making. Will they be like plug-ins? Will we have something more like a host / VSTi (or AU) arrangement?
Ideally I'd love to hear from some developers about what this might mean. Of course, I understand that there might be issues around giving opinions, at least it's been that way in previous years anyway.
So, anyone want to comment or give wild opinions or guess?

From the 'App Extension Programming Guide', I think the extension points are:
Today - Add a widget to the Today page of the Notification center or lock screen, or quickly respond to a banner notification
Share - Add options to the sharing tab
Action - Manipulate or view content within the context of another app (i.e. edit an image from a word processor, or translate text to a different language)
Photo Editing - Edit a photo or video within the Photos app
Storage Provider - Choose a document from among the set of documents the current iOS app can access
Custom keyboard - Replace the iOS system keyboard with a custom keyboard
The 'Action' catagory sounds the most interesting. It would allow something like a plugin sample editor or MIDI sequence editor, I think.
they might use it to kill audiobus, like they killed jack?
