QOTD: What app have you never managed to get on with?

There are so many apps and so many different approaches to mobile music. So which app have you never managed to get on with no matter how hard you've tried, and why?

I can think of several where I've had that experience and a few where I've persevered and found something wonderful even though I thought I'd never get there.

So, let me know which app and why.

Genome and is it Bleep box? I can't remember.
They both have the worst UI and UX I have come across in a long time. For me at least they are just awful.
I find the few apps I can't immediately figure out, after referring to the manual, I'm back on track; with both of these, It wouldn't matter if I went through the manual 100 times - they are the least friendly and intuitive apps I've encountered on iOS.

A toss-up between Mixtikl for pissing me off by creating so much confusion over the purchase/use of the AU version when I first got it, and Modular Synth, because no matter how I try, it is always in jellyfish mode when I try to navigate my way through all of the modules and cables.. Modular sounds good, but the virtual patching is a finicky Mug's game. Mixtkl has a huge upside, and I actually like the confusing, almost folksy layout, but I have given up a bit on the generative thing. Just feels too out of my hands, other than for having some pretty loops floating around mindlessly in the background...

Two spring to mind straight away. Both of these just did not work at all from the day I bought them. And what really gets me is no help, or indeed any response from the dev's. They are Electrify and Cycler3D. After a few weeks waiting in vain for a reply, I just delete them and will probably avoid any new releases from them.

Well, Audulus. It's too "stay calm and research" instead of being more lively . Also dont like how oscillator sounds there

Its funny to read the comments as I agree and disagree at the same time. Sadly, I have a lot of app regret. I never got into iMS20, iPolysix, Adulous was hard to grasp and there a whole bunch of apps I downloaded and deleted right away.

Re: Loopy, I use it all the time and it is an integral part of my work flow.

@ papermoise - Your comment about Audiobus is surprises me. While I sometimes have challenges with it (probably because of my iPad3, even with IAA it is still a game-changer. The dev says new features are coming soon and perhaps the new features (which are also supposed to be a game changer) may be what you are looking for.

Loopy HD for me too COz they wont Fkn implement free looping like my hardware looper is doing. U Start record and stop Record and Loop is Done and all the other loops are a multiple of it and fit to the Master loop. Loopy cant do it so it is useless for me coz i dont Want to tap bpm and watch metronome blinking while recording.really a shame that hardware loopers are more intuitive and better to use. COz the ipad could be a fkn awsome looper. Watch beardyman and his ipad Looping system. He had to pay his own developer to get what he want and need
