It seems only right to start with Bhajis Loops.
I last mentioned both Bhajis Loops and Microbe many times before, but if you're new to Palm Sounds (welcome by the way) Bhajis Loops was (is) one of the best Palm OS music making apps ever. In fact it still holds up against a lot of iOS apps. Both of these old Palm apps are still completely free although you can't use either of these on iOS (there is an emulator for jailbroken devices) you'd have to invest a modest sum in an old Pam Tungsten T3
Of course I secretly (although not so secretly now as I'm about to tell you all) still hold out the tiniest of hopes that Bhajis will somehow come to iOS, or even Android! But of course this won't happen.
So if you're game for some retro PDA music, try it out. You won't be sorry ...
