Interesting post from TUAW on this unused iPad patent. I have to agree with them that I doubt that this design will ever see the light of day.

Seriously... what else can you do with CCK other than copy pictures and connect cameras and midi devices? You can't even see the full content of the USB drive...
The thing is, even if you jailbreak, app developers still won't have the rights to use the filesystem. You will be able to see it and use it, but not them, nor any apps distributed in the Apple Store
.. but at least I can make backups of my project files! :)

... actually, what we need is just the permission to look at the file system.
Its there, but Apple said "No filesystem for you!"

I don't know what it's like to use a non-jailbroken iPhone. IFile since day 1 FTW.
