Pocket Wavepad HD

I can't remember if I've posted on this free iPad audio editor or not. Anyway, here are the details:

A free sound editor for recording, editing, adding effects, and sending audio, Pocket WavePad allows you to record voice or music, then edit the recording and add effects to achieve high quality audio recordings. Work within audio waveforms to make selections for quick editing, such as inserting recordings from other files, or apply effects like the high pass filter to clarify audio quality. For journalists and other professionals making recordings on the go, Pocket WavePad makes it easy to store or send recordings so they are readily available wherever they are needed.
  • Formatted for iPad
  • Supports a number of file formats including wave and aiff
  • Editing capabilities include cut, copy, paste, insert, trim and more
  • Effects include amplify, normalize, echo and more
  • Work with multiple files
  • Supports autotrim and voice activated recording

What I'd like to see is background recording, if that's possible? But something tells me it isn't, because that would allow phone conversations to be recorded on an iPhone- something that Apple doesn't like. Really stupid I think, but I'm sure Apple have their reasons?

BUT Garageband allows me to record its own speaker via the mic- so perhaps there's hope yet?

Ya...I know that there are state specific laws in the US that put well defined stipulations on recording phone conversation.. I'm pretty sure there are the same sorts of stipulations on an int'l level too...
But regarding WavePad: it should take care of most everyone's recording needs. It was the first reording app i loaded to my iPhone and while I've purchased several since, I stll use WavePad the most!
