I'm always happy to see demo and/or tutorial vids of apps here. Certainly mistakes are bound to happen and it's easy to overlook .... especially since perfection comes at a cost of time which would delay the vid ... besides .... it makes me feel like I'm not the only one that sometimes starts recording on the wrong beat now and then :) And what's even better is if the beat or tune isn't so great .... makes mine shine :) Keep em coming!

Agree with you Marlene! Also, I'd love to see a good vid from iLpD!

iLpD and Anonymous must've missed the BETA tag in the title of this video.

Well I have a right to have my own opinion.

That guy wrote in one of comments claim that he is "a professional reviewer! ;-)" so I can expect professional review from him, no?

@HLindal I'm not a professional revewer sorry mate.

@johnnyg0 Is that guy a Beta reviewer? If so I'm sorry for harsh comment!

I haven't used FL since 2001 I think so I was reluctant about this one.

But it looks like fun!

My worry is that if I like it I will end up getting the desktop version.

This app keeps on getting better and the tight intergration with Fruty Loops on the desktop will give people the ability to kick up thier musical sketchs to something more finished. By using the PC of course it looks like you could make something pretty finished without that too.

You gotta give the developers big credit for porting such a big app from Windows to iOS (iOS is pretty much Mac OSX!)? From what I can tell, they've done a brilliant job!

I wasn't convinced at first- I thought we were going to get another 'lazy port' where the developers hadn't bothered exploring how powerful a touch interface such as the one with the iPad really could be, and just left all the mouse driven stuff in, but they've proved me very wrong.

I reckon FL Studio for iOS will do very well, and I wish them every bit of luck for the future. :)

I would probably jump on this app if there was a desktop version for the Mac. I do like how the updated desktop GarageBand now imports the iPad GarageBand files for further editing .... probably much like FL Studio will do on windows.

Yes.Yes .Yes. We need this now!!! More iOS music apps. I wish the app store had more emphasis on the musical category. Like when you select the games category it is similar to the featured apps page. I hope that there are soon enough great apps for the music section of the app store to be treated with as much clout as the featured and games cats. Love my iOS music. Just can't get enough.

Ok. Despite of really low value of this review I would like to tell you what I learned just from looking at this app on a vid.

First of all I use FL Studio all the time since version 2.4 till now.
I was very happy when I heard about FL mobile about half a year ago.

@Tom
This one IS NOT A PORT to iOS
This is just Xewton music studio with different graphic and slight rebuilds (added step seq and drum pads).
I tried Xewton but it's a rompler based on build in sounds and I didn't like them. There is no option to add your own sounds and basic ones don't allow you to edit them except Attack / Release basic env and effects chain.
The only good thing is an automatable.

What I noticed in this vid - there is a new bank of instruments delivered by FL team.
That's the good news, but...
it's The bad one too
if instruments are sampled from FL devices and I suspect that when you load a sound called "Poizone Dirty Saw", FL will load Poizone Synth after converstion to FL format.
Poizone, Sytrus, Morphine and many other plugins are not a part of FL - these have to be bought separetely (for example Poizone plugin costs 79$).

Anyway I'm pretty sure I can't resist to buy it :)

Missed a few words.
It should be:

"The only good thing is an automatable filter per instrument."

I am looking at the GUI and can't help but thinking that might XEWTON (music studio) be the outside programmer for fruity loops iPad? The similarity of the two apps seem close. If so then this will be a good thing as I am sure the fans of Music Studio know how stable and great that app is. I wish I could have a BETA version. I watch a lot of FranzK video and he might not be the greatest musician but he def has passion and stays in the loop so it seems like a good fit for him to have the review even if he might not always be my cup o tea. @iLpD

"Is that guy a Beta reviewer?"

Well .. that depends, if he only reviews products still in Beta, we could say he's a Beta reviewer.

DAMN YOU SEMANTICS!! :D

But seriously its ok, you have the right to be harsh and critical, I know I am too sometimes.

@tom - are you kidding? This obviously isn't a port. They clearly hired the xewton developer to make his app compatable with flstudio.

I'm think the only part of this that came from flstudio is the artwork for the step sequencer and the export file format...
