Android Open Accessory Development Kit Based On Arduino

Ok, I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure that I get this. This board is like an Arduino, or based on one, but isn't made by Arduino? Also, will this work with any version of Android or only the latest or next versions?

Can't wait to see what creative users are found for this. Seems to expand the possibilities a bunch.

This loks cool, but I'm not sure how it'll help making music on Android... I can help with a couple answers :

Arduino is a standard, not a company. There are lots of different Arduino comparable boards; anyone can create one. It's open source hardware!

I suspect this is a simple USB to serial adaptor to allow code initiate output ports. This will allow coders to have input/output pins labeled 1 - 16 (for example) and read imput values and turn pins on an off, letting the phone talk to hardware.

This is great for robotics, allowing you to have a nice Android device with Wifi, Bluetooth and cellular and lots of I/O slots. Home automation is pretty much like a giant robot that you live in.
