Figured out that I could take field recordings I make with my trusty ol' Sony Minidisc recorder (MZ-R37)and transfer them to my iPhone 5 by using a lightning to usb adapter, a Griffin iMic and the n-Track Studio app. Works perfectly and sounds awesome.
Got the new Primitive Digital Software (Beat Machine, which I got for free today...INSANELY COOL)...guitar synth:
JAM SYNTH! It. is. a. mazing...
A buck for an absolute breakthrough app. Aguitar synth that tracks better than any of the synth patches in Line6 Pod Farm, or on the Pod Hardware, and the FM4 Modulation Pedal.
The key is, the guys who made this app understand one of the most critical elements to getting something like this to work: the right compression and noise reduction settings. I plugged my blessed 86 J Tele into an Apogee Jam, and used one of the patches with the nice on board delay, through Echo Pad in AB, and routed to Multitrack DAW...NOT A HITCH! BEAUTIFUL! First version...99 cents. Just a total Grand Slam!!!
