QOTD: What was the app that you were looking forward to most but failed to deliver?

Some apps look amazing when you first hear about them or even when you first fire them up but then fail to deliver on your expectations. Which app (or apps) did that for you, and more importantly, why?

impc, because it was not a faithful recreation of mpc in that the sequencer was a piano roll rather than an event list like on the mpc1000 and the file system doesnt evn allow you to create subdirectories and drag and drop samples but that is apples stupid sanboxing thing. why on earth should i need to be connected to wireless in order to render to wav when the hard disk is in the machine? dropbox? email? file share? why?

  3. Hands down, it was the Taposé app. It has never lived up to the hype and I've never been able to use it without frustration. It was the first Kickstarter project I truly wish I hadn't backed. Promises made by the developers were never kept, and almost immediately after being released, the price was marked down significantly from that we had donated as part of the Kickstarter campaign.

  4. Casio CZ - i have hard time creating new presets, seems changing parameters doesn't do much

Borderlands granular - great idea, but lacks few key features, which makes this app difficult to enjoy, but that might change soon, i hope so

I would have loved to see synth1 ported to ios as announced last year.
It was one of the best sounding free vsti ever. Even better than a lot of commercial ones.
Unfortunately, it never hit the appstore
