sunvox - batch import samples into sample editor and a generate drumkit option, to save time.

android nanoloop beta - export individual pattern tracks without the need for muting.

I still really dig Otomata and wish the dev had not abandoned it because it would rock if it got Audiobus and MIDI out. I did send the dev an email several months ago but haven't had a response. Shame as there's nothing else like it; sound cells is OK but you can't specify direction.

  3. That's a crazy question but one I've asked myself and can't really answer. It's just so subjective and depends on your mood and current obsession. The only way I can even begin to think in terms of favorite apps would be if I was told I could only have one app … I would say TNR-i. … hmmmm … or maybe Beatmaker 2? I would just want something that wasn't dependent on anything else to create a song. I love every single ios synth I have … every drum machine … every granular synth … every looper etc. it's just all part of a music creation universe for me. I remember the days before the App Store and how much I loved Moo Cow Music for their contribution to the world of Jailbroken iPod Touches. It was the beginning … and what a beautiful and exciting ride it's been :)

Hmmm. Harmonic Dogs Multitrack DAW because of the clean, uncluttered layout, the Audio Quality, a very intelligent delay, reverb (nice compression, EQ, but the Q needs a wider sweep at the unfocused end). If I get bored of Nave, Virtual ANS, Omenie, Samplr, Animoog (okay, hard to get bored with any of those, or the 150 strong synths, Samplers, weird noise generators I have gotten myself into...incredible, all of it!), I can still just plug in an Apogee Jam or Mic and get some music out of myself...

DAW needs some degree of Automation, IAA, and track to track move without copying. It is the best tape deck I have ever owned, lol. Shocks me a bit that it placed last in the Music App picks among DAWs...Not a Kludge. the "other one" I have has everything now (via IAP, and no, not Auria, still not convinced that it isn't sucking up to the Desktop set who think iOS is all kid stuff), and I simply do not trust it to work. Give me modular, that is why we have AB and IAA, right?

Biggest step for all Apps is to strike the right balance between sound quality, use of the touch surface as tool, and not as a silly auto-pilot crutch, and continued better interplay among other Apps. It's already great!
