Will larger screen 3DS do the trick for Nintendo?

I meant to post something about this a while back when the news broke about Nintendo launching a 90% larger screen in the 3DS XL. Apparently they launch in August for $199, but will it be enough?

In some ways I think it's a shame that Nintendo have lost their way to a degree. The DS Lite was great for homebrew, the DSi got software like Rytmik, but the 3DS didn't seem to take anyone's interest.

So will a 3DS XL make a difference?

    I use my DS lite for homebrew and my DSi for the music apps .... did not buy the 3D because it really had nothing to offer and many of the reviews on the unit were very clear that the 3D was causing some dizziness and headaches and the advise was to use for short periods of time .... but ... it really comes down to software of which there just wasn't any for someone older than 12. As for a larger screen ... sure ... I'd like that but again .... what software? A game console is only as good as the software created for that console.
