According to AppleInsider Xcode has support for quad core CPUs suggesting that these will be available in future iPhones and iPads. Now power like that could deliver some amazing functionality for apps and collaborative processes like Virtual MIDI.
So what would developers do with quad cores?
*drumroll*
ReplyDeleteDo you think the iPad3 will have a quad core processor?
ReplyDeleteyes
ReplyDeletethats whats everybody is waiting for?!!
ReplyDeleteproduct transition!
the end of the pc aera
ReplyDelete"the end of the pc era is a myth"
ReplyDeleteThere I fixed that for you.
wait & see
ReplyDeletei dont want to go back to osx to my big surprise
ReplyDelete@Lala
ReplyDeleteActually you are too late, we are already in the post-post-pc era.
http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/13/sorry-apple-windows-8-ushers-in-the-post-post-pc-era/
It will be the same with Apple when they release OSX tablets which will be compatible with IOS apps.
Computing has to be personal.
Yeah Post-PC is just Apple's marketing gibberish which doesn't mean anything.
ReplyDeleteI remember a time when Apple was Pro-PC, trying to make people believe their processors were
PC's by calling them PowerPC even thought they wouldn't run IBM PC code at the time.
Now they are based on Intel (PC), on a Unix based OS called BSD (PC), but they claim its a Post-PC world?
Yeah.. we could say the ipad has left out the "Personal" in "Personal Computing" ... :D
Oh how the world changes.
not quite there yet, i need more cpu & ram for whatever apple is cooking next
ReplyDelete@jake : yeah i wont hold my breath till m$ releases it in 2014
apple uses big words so the last idiot in the room understands whats happening
ReplyDeletedoes nokia have any touch patents?
ReplyDelete@lala
ReplyDeleteHow about Apple calling their devices Post-PC's, but not Android devices? To Apple, Android is still a PC.
Just to show you how bullshit that term is.
"Apple uses big words so their idiot marketbase understands what they want to sell to them"
ReplyDeleteThere I fixed that for you.
"yeah i wont hold my breath till m$ releases it in 2014"
ReplyDeleteNo need to wait, there are already plenty of decent tablets out there.
I bought an Acer Iconia with Windows 7 for cheap recently and its really great. And with StokeIt its even better.
i have different standarts
ReplyDelete"i have different standarts"
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you prefer a different UI, but its still a PC, even if its an iPad :D
Could it be for MacBook Air though?
ReplyDeleteI mean: it could be for the Air first, iOS devices later.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome would it be to have an iPad with a quad core processor? I'd be making a sound like Homer Simpson when he thinks about delicious food! Not sure how you'd spell it though. Lol.
ReplyDelete@jake: ui is king
ReplyDeleteA Macbook Air with a swivel touchscreen and the ability to run both IOS and OSX apps would be awesome.
ReplyDelete"@jake: ui is king"
And this is where I think IOS needs the most work. Multitasking is a pain in IOS when you have more than 5 apps opened, there's a minimum of 3 actions just to switch apps.
what ever it is, ipad3, macbook-touch im the firtst one to buy it
ReplyDeleteYes, because everything Apple makes is great and awesome, while everything Microsoft touches turns to shit eh?
ReplyDelete@lala:
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it's the UI of the iPad that has made it better than anything else on the Market. Microsoft are gonna need something better than Windows to compete.
No; everything Apple makes, works! Unlike PC's running Windows. Apple is the king of convergence; they have the resources and infrastructure. Microsoft can't and never will have anything like that, which is why they have to follow a different path.
ReplyDeletehm, airbook just got updated, ipads turn?
ReplyDelete@anon
ReplyDelete"No; everything Apple makes, works! Unlike PC's running Windows."
You repeated exactly what I said, but you are serious about it!
That's so hilarious! llol! :)
The Apple mantra is strong with that one.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI guess Apple makes the most ubiquitous systems because it works right?..
I guess Apple would use their own systems to power up the huge displays in their stores, or iCloud right?..
hmm.. guess not, both are powered by Microsoft :D
Why, did you see a blue screen?lol
ReplyDeleteas i see it is amazon & m$ now work for apple
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hate stability, functionality, class compliance, core midi, and useful OS updates, most of which don't require a reboot. Oh, and gorgeous design. Makes me wish I had a PC - hang on, I do.
ReplyDeleteSome people on here need to make your points clearer, rather than trying to sarcastic, and failing miserably. Now I'm off to record a tv program on my Betamax video recorder. Oh, that's right - that was twenty five years ago. Doesn't time fly. Try to spot the sarcasm. A maximum of ten points are available.
"as i see it is amazon & m$ now work for apple"
ReplyDeleteIts usually what happens when you are stuck inside the reality distortion field.
come to the dark side, we've got cookies
ReplyDelete@lala
ReplyDeleteThat one was genuinely funny. I dig it! (and the cookies :)
