A great 'odd' device, the madplayer was superb and a really interesting device. Now this kind of thing would be done in software, but hardware devices are so much fun.
I've got 2 of these (bought a 2nd on ebay in case the 1st ever bit the dust), love 'em! Dig it out every now and then for messing with or to get some inspiration.
They were cast off as toys by some, but following the firmware upgrade this unit had lots of juicy goodness hiding inside. The way it could keep on generating different music almost seemed magical at the time.
Ashley, you said this kind of thing is done in software now, can you recommend any that gives that same instant satisfaction in various genres that the MP does? I would buy without hesitation!
