iPhone 4S in 2011 and 5 in 2012?

Lots of rumours that this year we'll see an iPhone 4S this year with a better camera and possibly a dual core processor, and then the iPhone 5 next year. This seems to make sense to me as it is pretty much what they did with the iPhone 3G and 3GS.

Personally I'll probably skip the iPhone 4S and wait it out for the 5. What about you?

  1. I had only had my iPhone 3G for about 2 months when the 3GS came out and I really wanted the better camera and video so I upgraded before my 2 years and paid the price ..... now I can get my next iPhone for the contract price this coming month ..... so .... I've waited this long and I might just wait for the 5 but then again ..... maybe not :)

  3. I bet there will be a lot of other cool inprovements.

The new ios5 and cloud tech is very intersting stuff and I think that will be a real kick up too.

Still have a 3GS and with its abysmal battery life, alledged incompatibilty with iOS 5 and this coming out right before my upgrade time, I'll be getting the 4S. Hopefully there'll be an untethered jailbreak for it by then.

IOS5? What are the devices that will be put to rest this time?

The rumour mill says only 512mb devices will be fully supported (for example the older ipod touches can run IOS4, but had multitasking, wallpaper and other features disabled, hence they are not "fully supported" by IOS4).

Seriously hoping the rumours are not true.

  7. I don't think I'll bother with either, and buy an old Treo 650! Then I can save the money for a second iPad!

I also want a Tascam DP 008. Anyone got one of those? I've already got a Yamaha MD8, but it's hardly 'pocket sized' and my work area is tiny, so there's a big incentive to 'downsize'!

My iPhone 3G is okay, but it's getting rather knackered these days. :(
