Musique Non Talent: All this and the iPad 2

I thought this was a good summing up of the announcement from Apple and made me want an iPad 2 a bit less. So if you're trying to resist then read this.

I feel much the same. iOS4.3 should address an issue DJ apps are having with reading track metadata from the iPod Library (in particular the bpm info)...so the OS upgrade is a welcome addition.

Before the Apple presentation, I was digging through stuff to sell and unfortunately I cast a glance over my original and nearly mint Tenori-On. Thankfully, by doing a quick test to check it works, I've rediscovered it's simple beauty through the twinkly lights. So although I'm no longer craving for the next Apple product (which has got to be a good thing?) I have renewed interest in a bit of old kit I'd forgotten about!

  2. I presume that most people here already own an iPad v1? I never bought a v1, and waited for the v2 for all this time. Many of the apps I would like only work with the iPad, and buying an iPad will be a benefit for my kids too, as well as my work as a photographer (digital portfolio). So I will probably bite the bullet and buy a new white one.

But like I said, good music can still be made with the bare minimum of stuff. The Japanese noise artists 10 years ago (Massonna, Otomo Yoshihide, Merzbow etc etc) were all making a fabulous racket with nothing but pedals. But I can't display photos or 3D animations on pedals! :)

The iPad 2 is great for all those who waited (or can afford one anyway). I also want a MacPro instead of this tiny MacMini!
