I really distrusted the Monotron when it came out, but since buying one, it has become my favourite synth! My mother bought me a Stylophone when I was 8, I would have killed for a Monotron then!
People are trying to modify it all the time to get less noise, but I think the higher noise shelf is part of its charm. It's a shame that its noise can't be used as another sound source!
