I would encourage others who have made tracks for the contest to post up a video too :) I'd love to check out how everybody put theirs together. The more the merrier! I also think other songs/videos that have been posted here previously are in the contest as well.

Anon, I take your point about the competition, but I can't make anyone vote for tracks more than others, and in terms of the judges prize, my vote is only a 3rd of the whole.
I'm happy to post any videos of music made with NanoStudio, so there's no bias here at all.
If you want to do it with no bias shouldn't you get in touch with all contestants and give them the opportunity to do the same? As was said, nothing against Formal, but this does leave somewhat of a sour taste in the mouth. I know you can't make anyone vote for a particular track, but you can advertise a track which could lead to increased votes etc...
This sounds kinda bitchy and I guess it is, just don't like people getting an advantage etc. Sorry Formal...
Nice sample from "La Planete Sauvage"...as used by Dj Shadow on a couple of his tracks a while back. In fact, the whole LP is worth checking out if you can.
@Anon, Considering the fact that there is no direct link to the contest and my competition track is actually posted under a different alias would make it rather difficult for me to get more votes. There are now over 300 entries to go through!! By having this posted I have actually NOT received one extra vote.... Would it have made a difference if I left out "nanostudio compeition track" from the title? Lastly, if you don't like people having an advantage why don't you complain about this entire battle system?? The way it goes now is that the person who submits the MOST track EARLIEST on will have an advantage. Most battles have a deadline to enter the tracks. When the deadline is up then the voting begins and is usually limited to one week for votes.
Just as a question, if my video was posted on another blog, besides Palm Sounds, would that still be an unfair advantage?
Yay!! That's me!! Enjoy guys :)
ReplyDeletegood going formal! :)
ReplyDeletenav
is it really appropriate for judges to be featuring tracks before the deadline? does everyone else get the same opportunity?
ReplyDelete(and that's nothing against yer man formal)

BTW, where is your competition track?
@Beat, thanks for the feeback!! :)
@Palm Sounds, sorry for the drama :(
I will never enter a contest again because of this ... ever.
ReplyDeleteNice track Formal!
Normally I would keep this to myself but, I will not be voting for Fromal's track. Even though it's rather awesome and his how to video was inspiring.
All votes will be for myself of course ;-)
I enter contests to get familiar with the software/ hardware and the fun of it. Enjoy the contest, the software, the tracks and the blog.
ReplyDeleteFirstly: Love the track and the video to go along.
ReplyDelete2nd: Haters gunna hate.
C: keep up the good work, and doing that damn thing!
