Flourish first impressions

I've had a bit of a play with Flourish now and I've getting to like it. Play is probably the right word as in many ways it looks and feels like a game. The sounds are clean although nothing amazing but the interface is what makes it interesting to use. It reminds me of SpinPad from MiniMusic for the Palm OS which never got beyond a demo. This is like a load of SpinPad interfaces in one go.

Whilst it is a fun app to play with at the moment, I'm not sure it fits in longer term. It'd be good to see the app evolve a bit with tweakable sounds and at least an export function, but even without any of those things 10 out of 10 for innovative interface.

  1. I haven't quite gotten the hang of this app yet but I do like the sounds. Right now it seems to take a lot of time to put together a simple composition, probably because it's just not intuitive to me. Maybe some videos will start to appear on youtube and I'll get the visual instruction I seem to need.
