What does WAVE mean for mobile music?

I don't know much about Google Wave, but it does sound interesting, especially the real time element. What I am interested to know is how it could be used for mobile music, if that's possible, and if anyone is considering it.

  1. It would be nice to have something like YouTube for original audio tracks. There's SoundCloud, but it is ridiculously expensive for casual use beyond the 5 free tracks per month. There are quite a few sites geared around band and album promotion including MySpace. But there doesn't seem to be an analog to YouTube for just casual one-off "look at this cool song I made".

  2. So will Wave help with this? I know that there is a degree of collaboration involved too, but wasn't aware if that could be used for musical collaboration?

  3. I don't know that it currently can. But it seems like it's within the range of possible applications. Waves can take file attachments that can be shared. And it has apps that they call "Gadgets".
