I've waited a while for this app and I'm looking forward to giving it a spin on my iPhone soon. I'll let you know when I've got something to say about it.
This is a pretty cool app. I like the idea of a drum app that uses a "real drummer", I mean how many 808's and 909's do you really need on your iPhone. I don't know that this app will fit into my current "electronic" workflow but when I break out the guitars again it will definitely come in handy.
I sure hope they plan on adding new drummers/styles in future updates.
Very good but honestly, why have multiple apps? why not one 'Instant Drummer' app that lets you purchase other drum sets within the application. I do not want 10 different apps for one thing :(
Valid point. However, as the first one weighs in at 95mb, I think I'd rather have the option to either have them one by one, or better still with some form of in app purchase.
Thanks for the comments and checking it out. We debated over whether or not to have each new InstantDrummer be its own product, or have in-app purchases.
There's a few reasons we elected to go with different apps rather than in-app purchases, but the one that was most important to us was this - we did not want to try and offer the wrong add-ons to people who initially bought a rock drum product. If our initial product is only rock drums, then when we come out with country or hip-hop, we may not be offering those to the right customer as an add-on. The hip-hop customer may have overlooked us already because our initial release was rock.
We understand that you may have more than one InstantDrummer app on your phone after some time and that could be annoying, but we thought we'd reach a wider audience this way.
It's the same model Looptastic and iDrum were using before Looptastic Gold came out.
I do think it's the right solution considering the range of content we're going to distribute.

First impressions are very good. I was using it on the train last night and I really like it.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to see in-app purchasing like with Looptastic Gold.

that was what i meant, I would have loved a central app with in-app purchases for other sounds.
ReplyDeleteI think the app will really be useful with FourTrack integration.
