Paid or Ad Supported?

Out of interest do you prefer music apps that are free or supported by ads?

I don't know of any that are ad supported, but I'm interested in what people's thoughts are on the subject.

    Whichever is best for the devs really. I guess I'd be happy to have an ad supported free version with the option to pay for an ad-free version.

    I'm just interested as you see so many ad supported apps in other categories, but not so much in the music section, at least not apps that make music anyway.

    I wonder how well ads can be integrated in a music app. Many ad supported apps pause to show ads, also streaming ads while playing an instrument might be bad for a processor intensive app. A static banner wouldt be ok though.
