BPM Counter
Here's a simple little palm app for DJ's...
The BPM counter for Palm OS allows you quickly figure out the BPM (beats per minute) of a song. Simply tap the TAP button (at least twice) and the program will calculate the duration between taps and translate it into beats per minute.
The algorithm takes the average duration between two successive taps for the last ten taps (or less than that if you haven't tapped it ten times yet). This stabilizes the BPM reading but is still subject to user-tap error. So don't depend on this application for strict beat matching purposes (use your ears). It will give you a good idea of the BPM of a song though.
Tap on the CLEAR button to restart the alrogrithm and clear out the values stored for averaging.
