I found these tutorials really disappointing; as the most complex and unintuitive configuration I've ever come across, I was hoping they would shed some light on everything I'd not yet managed to figure out. I couldn't have been more let down. All the basic stuff, that most users will know, is scrutinised to the nth degree, and it's almost insulting when a finger points at a USB hub and 'keyboard'!!, I mean WHAT?, whereas all the advanced stuff has barely a cursory glance. Before watching the 12 tutorials, I thought wow, thirst will answer all my questions and fill in the gaps of knowledge I have. Again, couldn't have been more wrong. Very very poor job - I hope they get someone else to do it next time - MI man is just no good. I am your first failed student.
As the author - I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed anonymous. What would you like to see differently? Others who have little knowledge and haven't got the expertise you obviously have, have expressed extreme appreciation. There is at least one advanced tutorial planned - however, exactly what should go into it is still under discussion, so your input is valuable. Please do reply as your comments would be helpful. I have been doing instructional design and teaching for over 25 years. Most people aren't experts out of the gate - so the videos cater to new users who don't know how to hook anything up or use it. I am sorry that you think I am no good, but constructive comments would serve to help and I am open to receiving them. Yours - MI man. :-)
@ MI man, I apologise if I sounded harsh but the fact is, I finally got hold of one of these and had questions regarding the iconfig software, which I find to be rather confusing and unintuitive as I said. So when a full manual and 12 tutorials appear, I think nice one, I'll know get the answers to the questions I have. Then imagine you watch the first one, where you're left scratching your head, thinking 'why on earth would someone buy this, not knowing how to connect a power supply'? Then watch the remaining 11 and have still not got an understanding of everything. I find manuals often difficult to learn from, my brain just isn't like that. I stand by what I said, just maybe not how I said it. It's not my job to tell you how to do a proper job, like I said, I see your main stumbling block as being the fact you go through basic stuff in atomic levels of detail, whereas the more advanced stuff you breeze through, often not explaining some things at all! To be honest, I don't feel like helping you make your tutorials better. If you've been teaching for so long, you should know. I'm not getting paid to do your job for you. I'm sorry for being so blunt, I have anti-social issues, LOL. I've worked my problems out myself, a shame you, nor iConnectivity could've helped me. L8ers P0tat3rs.
