iPads at the Apple Store
This is AWESOME! Now you can use it with MIDI Controller apps running in the foreground on your iPad. Really nice...
ReplyDeleteiPad 2 needed me thinks, glitching using slide control or geo synth with Animoog in background with iPad 1
ReplyDeleteM.e.t.r.o.n.o.m.e!!!
ReplyDeleteCount-in dosen't cut it.
Just use any metronome app in the background
ReplyDeleteI'm not having any luck with networked MIDI at the moment. Does anyone know Animoog will transmit MIDI data? I don't see much value in having it receive MIDI if you can't send the note and poly pressure data from the control strips.
ReplyDelete@Matt...
ReplyDeleteYeah. I know that feeling. :(
So I'm selling my iPad 1 and a few other bits and pieces and I hope to buy 2 more iPad 2's.
@Tom TM ... I was kinda thinking of doing the same thing but at this point it might be wise to wait for the iPad 3 since I'm thinking there might be some radical changes ... or not :)
ReplyDeleteGlitching for me with geosynth on iPad 2. Seems to work OK with poly chord, also glitchy with Thumbjam.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else?

I'm with you Marlene, heavy lifting is done on the pc. I am looking forward to the next iPad to come along but love the 1st gen still and it does just about everything I need it to. If only it could've handled flash video out the box.
ReplyDeleteFlash is dead on mobile devices. Adobe announced it a little while ago.
ReplyDeleteAgreed that it really needs it's own metronome, I know you could run one in the background but why just have a count in when you could just have a built in metronome? Also needs to have a longer record function, this synth is very expressive and the short record time is very limiting compared to other synths.
ReplyDeleteGlitching with geo: was glitching on my iPad2 until I used the volume trick (change the volume) for sunrizer outlined in the geo FAQ. Something to do with differing audio buffers and latency or the like. Best read the FAQ rather than hear it from me...
ReplyDeleteAfter several hours (26 decent presets worth) of preset randomising/refining and geo playing I ended up with 'proper' latency issues so there might be some scope for performance improvements.
Seems to be no pitch bend plus it would be nice if geo sent poly aftertouch... Otherwise a very enjoyable surprise evening. Much needed too...
"Flash is dead on mobile devices. Adobe announced it a little while ago."
ReplyDeleteThis is not what Adobe announced.
The Flash plugin is dead but you can still create IOS apps out of Flash (and there are a lot of apps in the appstore made in Flash).
Thanx Sync, - I'd already read that
ReplyDeleteFAQ, and it didn't seem to help. Also made sure to kill everything else in the background.
Gonna keep fiddling with it tho'...
Today my iPad luck synced with my daily life luck and the glitching proves unremovable. Even survives a restart... Shame, I could have done with an evening's respite.
