i like the idea of the app, but would probably enjoy it more if it had tabbed pages for each of the main rather than having to drag the central divider around so much
what are you guys smoking?? Talk about a buzzkill, the guy works on this thing for months and months and this is the kindof reception he gets for a free update?
Ok I agree the current interface is not yet ideal for touchscreens, but damn give the guy some props. Between the drum synth and the compressor the new update is huge.
I found one of the limitations with using sunvox was that dealing with the filesystem / transferring drum samples was such a pita. I'm going to enjoy working with synthesized percussion.
I was just messing with the drum synth routed to a delay to a compressor yesterday and you can easily get some mad glitched out sounds. it's insane, you can easily get do some really cool sequenced modular sound design tricks that would be really difficult to do in any other mobile app (even jasuto, which is great for sound design, but tends to be not-so-great for sequencing).
PS i also would like to echo the request for the android port! =)
the problem of adapting the power of a tracker to the touchscreen remains an open problem. Give it some time and _constructive_ criticism (i.e. not "the interface sucks") ...
Sunvox is THE best sequencer on iPad and people who don't like the interface or the slightly lo-fi sound are missing the point. I hope if it gets upgraded to 32 bit sound we have the option to switch to the old 13-16 bit engine.
I love the retro look, so cool and unique on the iPad. Please never do anti-aliased graphics, Alexander. There are probably ways to improve the usability without changing the character of the software.
Now if only he sorted the interface out for iOS, I'd be using this everyday, it has so much power and potential.
ReplyDeletesweet... been waiting for the compressor. Still waiting on that android port. Really hope to make use of my droid 2 keyboard...
ReplyDeleteStill waiting real 16 bit audio. Still Sunvox 13 bit engine to noisy for professional use.
ReplyDelete13 bit for normal signal and additional 3 bits for overload. So, sometimes you will get honest 14, 15 or 16 bits.
ReplyDeleteI like sounding of Sunvox, but 13+3bit audio output and awful tracker interface make it unusable for me.
ReplyDeleteIt took some time but now I really like the Interface of SunVox. There is no need to change it. Resizing to a specific Section works great.

ReplyDeleteThis interface is clearly the result of not delegating/outsourcing properly. Terrible.
ReplyDeleteHas Sunvox gotten around to allowing real-time note entry, or is manual entry still required?
ReplyDeleteReal-time notes recording will be in the next releases.

ReplyDeletesome of the UI tweaks are already helping quite a bit. double tap add module is great (shouldn't there be an equivalent gesture for patterns?)...
